In response to Sunday’s launch of the Nexus S 4G, Sprint has dropped the price of one of its older 4G WiMax phones, the Samsung Epic 4G, to $150 on-contract.

Even though the Galaxy S device has been out for awhile, this is the lowest price point that the Epic 4G has seen through its carrier. the Epic 4G remains one of Sprint’s flagship devices and this price drop should make it even more attractive to customers looking to get a solid 4G device.

Sprint and Samsung finally got the Epic 4G up to Android 2.2 Froyo and it will likely get an upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread at some point in the future which means it’s still worth considering even as the new crop of Android handsets begin to hit shelves.

The Samsung Epic 4G is a physical QWERTY keyboard lovers dream and features a brilliant 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz single-core Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 512MB of RAM, 1500 mAh battery, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a VGA front facing camera for video chat.

For those interested in the offer, head here to find it.
