First Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Ad Takes Shots at iPad 2

The first advertisement for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has rolled out onto the internet today and lo and behold, it takes a couple of jabs at one of its main competitors, Apple’s iPad 2.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 is already out in New York City and will be available to the rest of the United States in just a few short days on June 17th. The Wi-Fi only version won’t require a contract and will cost $499 for a 16GB model and $599 for a 32GB version.

It’s also going to have a 10.1-inch enhanced display with a1280x800 resolution, 1 GHz dual core application processor, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera. It’ll also have Flash support, something that the iPad 2 doesn’t, something that has been pointed out ad nauseum and shows up in the advertisement.

Nice of Samsung to give the lady with the iPad a nice leather Smart Cover though. Be prepared to hear a lot of “It’s Time to Tab” over the next several months as Samsung puts not only this device on shelves but a 4G LTE version and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 as well.

While it’s obviously exagerated, I think it still does a good job of making it’s point.  Cute idea of everyone running to get one without being too far out there.  Cute.

In the near future Flash won’t be a problem for the iPad. Adobe has largely admitted they lost the battle and will include HTML Live steaming capabilities with the new version of Flash Media Server.

Funny, iTunes is a primary reason I don’t want anything that requires iTunes.  That is one of the worst, bloated, slow, domineering applications ever.  I’d say I’d rather install Limewire than that crap again.

Not a bad advert but the “better gaming” part was a laugh.  Even with an anemic Tegra 2, gaming is a HUGE weak spot of any Android device.  Given that Flash is quickly being phased out of Web Tech…
