Motorola: Droid 2 Global Gingerbread Update Hasn’t Rolled Out Yet
In an odd turn of events for Motorola Droid 2 Global owners, Motorola has contradicted Verizon and claims that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is in fact not available, is not rolling out, and isn’t even ready just yet.
We had thought that the update was good to go but through a message on Motorola’s support forums, we have now learned that this is not the case and that Verizon jumped the gun in regards to the update.
I’m not sure where the confusion is coming from, but the tweets being posted here appear to be premature. The Droid 2 Global update is not rolling out at this time. Sorry for misinformation — we are looking into it.
(And no, I can’t give you any information on when.)
Sadly, the message offers no details as to when the update might actually start rolling out so it looks like Droid 2 Global owners are all the way back to square one as far as Android 2.3 is concerned.
Don’t you just love the drama that always seems to unfold with a major Android update?
