Easter Egg Turns TouchPad webOS Card Swipe Into Angry Birds-Like Slingshot

I picked this Easter Egg up from James Kendrick, who picked it up from Jason Perlow. It’s silly and fun. If you’re familiar with webOS you know that you discard and App or card by flicking it up at the top of the screen. If you’re familiar with Angry Birds, you know you toss birds and pigs. Well this Easter Egg combines the two.

Hold the HP TouchPad in landscape mode with the action button on your left as you view the TouchPad. (This Easter Egg only works in this orientation.) Now instead of flicking the App card up, drag it down to the dock and let it go. You’ll hear the familiar slingshot sound and as the card flies up and away, you’ll also hear that familiar “weeee” from Angry Birds.

Now, what’s also humorous in a weird meta kind of way is that the Angry Birds App on the TouchPad will only display in one orientation when the TouchPad is in landscape mode. And this isn’t the orientation that allows you to execute the Easter Egg and slingshot the App away.

Like I said, fun and silly. Unless you think those darn Angry Birds are taking over.
