Just as we suspected, the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide – a dual-core smartphone with an advanced camera – will be officially arriving on July 27th with pre-orders starting on July 19th.

T-Mobile made all of this official in a press release today confirming an earlier leak that pegged the 27th as the day that the myTouch 4G Slide would arrive. Here are the details courtesy of T-Mobile:

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide will be available exclusively from T-Mobile on July 27 at T-Mobile retail stores and through select national retailers and dealers. A Web-only pre-sale at https://mytouch.t-mobile.com/4g-slide will kick off on July 19. Offered in two colors – black and khaki, the myTouch 4G Slide will cost $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and qualifying unlimited data plan after a $50 mail-in-rebate.

So, that means that those of you on T-Mobile with an upgrade or looking to head to the Magenta carrier will have a difficult choice to make coming up as the HTC Sensation 4G is joined by the myTouch 4G Slide as the two phones to take under serious consideration.

Why is the myTouch 4G Slide so compelling? Well, for one it has what T-Mobile is calling the “most advanced camera of any smartphone”. In addition, it’s also going to be coming with a 3.7-inch touchscreen, Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Sense 3.0, a four row QWERTY keyboard, Genius Button, and Netflix.

Current phone MT4g.  I am excited about the slide coming out. I wish the slide would have looked a little different in appearance.  My number one concern will be battery life.  I know that the HTC Sensation is the best battery life Android phone available.  I am hoping that the Slide will at least be the same or better.  I will forgive the Slide for looking the same as the original MT4g as long as the Sensation still has the “speaker phone” bugs.  (everyone complains they can’t hear anything)  So, the truth is, I want the Sensation without any bugs.  I don’t care about the keyboard, speech texting is so much faster and easier.  But if the Slide is out before the Sensation is fixed, then my money will likely be spent on the Slide. Damn, why does it have to look exactly like a MT4g???
