HTC ThunderBolt Price Slashing Begins, Don’t Bite

By  |  3 Comments

In a shocking turn of events (not really), the price of the HTC ThunderBolt has plunged all the way down to $60 at Wirefly in a likely attempt to lure in those still on the fence about buying the upcoming Motorola Droid Bionic. Unfortunately, the offer is only for new Verizon customers which means that you’ll not only have to sign over your name for two years but you’ll also have to sign into tiered data. Oh, and you’ll also miss out on one of the most anticipated phones of the year, the Droid Bionic.

HTC ThunderBolt

Don’t bite on this, folks. First of all, you’ll want to wait for the Droid Bionic to arrive. Take it for a test drive. If you don’t like it, don’t get it and look for a deal like the one for the HTC ThunderBolt. Second, you really don’t want to get locked into tiered data with the HTC ThunderBolt. If there you’re going to have to do that, do it with the Droid Bionic or the Motorola Dinara.

If you REALLY want the HTC ThunderBolt, again, wait for the Droid Bionic to come out. I have a feeling that $60 is not the cheapest price tag that is going to accompany this phone. I would not be shocked to see it fall all the way to free next month.

Wirefly isn’t going to be the only retailer to slash the price of the HTC ThunderBolt ahead of the Droid Bionic release and yes, $60 is slightly tempting for a phone that is finally back on track after dealing with a litany of issues, but do your best to hold out.

Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Why not bite? The Thunderbolt getting Gingerbread isn’t a matter of if but when and the phone will likely be $150 dollars cheaper than the Bionic and I honestly don’t think the Bionic’s specs are going to be that much more impressive and I’d rather own an HTC phone than a Motorola.

I wanted to wait for the Droid Bionic to come out but they keep on pushing it back more and more. I went with the Thunderbolt about a month ago and I love it. I have not had any of the problems that people talk about with the Thunderbolt. Now of course I have unlimited data because I signed the contract before the tiered data came into effect but still, I would recommend the Thunderbolt over anything else right now on the market. Plus, Moto blur is not good at all.
