Unlocked Samsung Nexus S on Sale for $350

Published

on

DailySteals currently has the unlocked version of the Samsung Nexus S available for a mere $350. That is 50% off the usual price of $700 big ones which makes this a deal worth looking at if you hate contracts. The deal is for an unlocked Nexus S that is compatible with T-Mobile’s 3G network. That means that it’s not for the recently released AT&T model and it’s not not Sprint’s Nexus S 4G. T-Mobile compatible, folks.

Nexus S

Currently, the deal has 8 hours left which means that you only have a limited time before it disappears into the ether. So, if you’ve done your homework and decided that you don’t want to wait for Samsung’s latest phone, the Galaxy S II, and you’d rather have a Nexus device that was several months ago, you’ll want to act fast. I won’t argue with how good the price is but I will argue this.

Unless you need a phone right now, off-contract, it’s not worth it. Wait for the Galaxy S II or better yet, wait for the next Nexus device to come out when Android Ice Cream Sandwich arrives. Spend the $350 on something else.

If that’s not convincing enough, you can find the deal ticking away here.

So really its just an off contract T-mobile Nexus S.. Its pretty pointless being called “unlocked” if you can only use it on T-mobile. Correct me if im wrong here, but that doesn’t make all that much sense does it?

Real quickly, the Tmobile Nexus S, off contract does work on ATT’s network.  With that being said, if you put a ATT sim card inside the phone, you will only be able to access the edge network.  Where if you’re using a Tmobile sim card, you’ll browse on the 3g.  Why is this important?

I didn’t want to be tied down to a carrier.  There are 3rd party carriers that provide service.  The main reason anyone would want to use these is if they’re trying to budget their phone plans.  For example…I currently have Walmart Tmobile family plan in which I pay 89.00 for two phones, unlimited phone calling/ unlimited texting for both phones.  I have the option to purchase 1gb data /cards which I have, just in case if I need to access 3g for who knows what.

The reason I did this is because each month going about it this way and without a dataplan, we save $50.00 a month x 12 months is around $600.00 a year i’m saving x 2 year plans (what a carrier would sign you up for) is close to $1200.00 for two years.  What could you buy with 1200.00?

At home I use Wifi, at work my wife uses wifi…we have data in case we need to use it for some reason….plus the 1gb data is only 40.00 and doesn’t expire.  This 1gb will/could last my wife and I around 3 months if we use it everyday.

I realize this isn’t for everyone!!!  So please, don’t respond with counter arguments to my scenario, because you won’t change my mind.  I’ve spent months and months looking to figure out a scenario that works with how I want it to….not how it’s being dictated to us by ATT/VERIZON/TMOBILE….

    I hope this helps.
