HTC Ruby to Hit T-Mobile as HTC Amaze 4G?

Posted by | 08/16/2011 | 3 Comments

T-Mobile’s high-end smartphone, the HTC Ruby, which is rumored to be launching alongside the Samsung Hercules on October 26th, will likely be called the HTC Amaze 4G when it arrives.

Pocketnow is reporting that a reliable source has informed them that this will be the retail branding of the phone that is going to sport a speedy processor and a high-resolution display.

Originally, it was thought that the HTC Ruby would be called the HTC Hero 4G but HTC Amaze is apparently one of the names that HTC has trademarked lately and it seems to be the lucky winner. HTC has apparently filed for the Amaze in Europe as well so we could see this launch much in the same way that the HTC Sensation did.

HTC Amaze 4G

As for the specs, the HTC Amaze 4G is going to be a high-end flagship device and not a mid-range phone that was previously rumored. It’s going to have a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8MP rear camera, and will likely have the same camera features that the myTouch 4G Slide has.

So, essentially, a combination of the Sensation 4G and myTouch 4G Slide. Not bad, not bad at all.

What do you guys think of the HTC Amaze 4G name?
