Motorola Droid 2, Citrus Listed as End of Life; Other Verizon Android Phones in Short Supply

In an era of the Droid 3, it looks like the prior generation of the phone is now being listed as end of life by Verizon Wireless. Both the white and blue versions of the Droid 2 Global are now end of life, meaning that the carrier will sell out of existing inventory if it hasn’t already done so, and won’t be ordering any new units. Additionally, the entry-level Motorola Citrus smartphone is also end of life.

Interestingly, though, there are a number of current devices that are scarce as inventory has been low. Chief among them is the Droid 3, and according to a report on Android Central, it’s unclear if this is because the device is really popular among fans of Android and the Droid franchise, or if it’s because the carrier didn’t manage to order enough inventory to start with.

Another device that’s hard to find is the 4G LTE version of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, which comes in at a lower price point than the Motorola Xoom 3G/4G on Verizon, and comes with 4G out of the box in a slimmer form factor. Speaking of tablet, the smaller 7-inch Galaxy Tab sibling is also hard to find, but isn’t listed as end of life just yet.

Also, the Samsung Continuum, which is part of Sasmung’s original Galaxy S family of phones, is also difficult to find, which is okay I suppose considering that Verizon’s expected to land the Galaxy S II soon. The Continuum and the Fascinate were offered as Galaxy S variants on Verizon, with the Continuum offering a smaller main display than traditional Galaxy S devices, but has a secondary ticker screen on the bottom to display pertinent information in standby mode without having to activate the main display.

RIM Storm has to be, and easily is one of the WORST POS cell phones I’ve used yet. I have been using the OG Storm for a few months already because I killed my OG Droid. I can honestly say I WISH that I still had my OG Droid. Not a day goes by that I feel like hurling the Storm into a wall LOLz
