Motorola Droid Bionic Surfaces in New Lengthy Video

Published

on

Did you enjoy the first Motorola Droid Bionic video that we showed you? I thought so. We saw the new MotoBlur, the animations that happen when the device boots up, and a glimpse at its 4G LTE speeds. Well, I’m happy to say that another video of the Droid Bionic has leaked out ahead of launch and this one gives us a much more in-depth preview of the 4G LTE phone that still has its work cut out even though Verizon won’t be releasing a Samsung Galaxy S II.

This video gives us an extensive tour around the Droid Bionic’s software and the guy with the phone is even nice enough to perform a speed test for us as well. The only thing missing here is a great look at the phone’s form factor but we’ve already seen it so many times that I’m willing to forgive and forget.

 Droid Bionic

From the looks of things, the Droid Bionic appears to be running smoothly and is able to handle all of the animations that MotoBlur throws at it and it looks a whole lot better than the choppiness that I found with the Motorola Droid 3.

I can only hope that retail versions of the handset perform the same way. So, have a look ladies and gentlemen and let me know what you think. Look good?

Awful?

What version of the Android OS and MotoBlur are we seeing?  Looking forward to seeing someone safely root the Bionic. Because VZW doesn’t give us the freedom to choose what’s pre-loaded, Many people will want to drop the barrier through rooting to uninstall the excess apps. Even with no other enhancements after that, I can see the BIonic performing even better…

I believe its Android 2.3.4. And their newest blur although Moto doesn’t call it Blur anymore.

Wish he would have shown more of the features instead of spending soo much time on a bug that will be fixed soon anyways…. and honestly a small bug like that wouldn’t bug me at all, since i usually just swipe to the next screen instead of pulling out all 5. Phone looks smooth tho. And you see the speed tests??? Lowest I saw was around 14. =D

Is he prohibited from opening the web browser? Or Netflix? Those are things I’d really like to see….

Anyone know if the firmware will allow the ANT+ features of the WiLink7.0 that are on this chip to be utilized?
GPS combined with ANT+ would make this a great cycling computer.

Just wondering if you’ve been able to get anymore information on the ANT+ integration.  I would love to use the phone as my cycling partner, it’ll literally be an All In One device if it could

Nothing yet.  I’m hoping that once this phone is out tomorrow, I’ll be able to contact Motorola to ask specifics about it.

It’s rumored to be sept 8. But thast not official. Only official statement is it will be released in September. Verizon usually releases phones on Thursday, so if it’s not the 8th you can bet it will only be a week or two difference.

AHHHH the wait!!  Just when I am tired of waiting another day something comes along that reminds me of why I keep waiting.  I will wait until they release it but it doesn’t mean I will wait quietly.

I’ve had a chance to mess around with this phone first-hand and it’s extremely responsive.  I’m in the same boat as most of you (OG Droid) and want to replace it badly, but I might try to hold out for the Droid Prime.

My only question is will it do simultanious voice & data on the 3G network like the Thunderbolt?  It is a little on the in consistant side, but it does work and I really like that feature considering the closest 4G area to where I live is 3 hours away…
