Evidence Points to Windows Phone Mango Release on September 15th

Published

on

Even though we’ve been hearing a bunch about Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices lately, we still have no idea when the update is going to start  rolling out to phones around the world. We had heard that the Mango roll out would begin today, September 1st, but that’s obviously not happening so it’s back to the drawing board. Luckily, WPCentral has covered said board with a bunch of new information that seems to point to September 15th as the release date.

The first piece of evidence comes from a commercial software company that makes a Windows Phone application and that company is saying that the update has been ‘delayed’ until September 15th. Maybe September 1st was, in fact, the original target date.

So that’s the first piece of evidence.

Windows Phone Mango

The second piece of evidence that points to a September release date comes in the form of an online chat with an HTC representative who confirms that Windows Phone Mango will be rolling out this month. He doesn’t disclose an exact date but he does confirm September and it would be surprising to see Microsoft wait until any later than mid-month to get this out.

Remember, Apple is likely going to be announcing the next iPhone in the latter half of September.

And then, the last piece of evidence. The AT&T Dell Venue Pro has been out of stock for weeks now and speculation has it launching again with Windows Phone Mango on board. Guess what? The current preliminary shipping date for the phone, is you guessed it, September 15th.

September 15th is looking good folks. Circle it in your mental calendar.

It might be worth noting that the windows phone connector for os x application was updated yesterday, and that the list of improvements includes support for windows phone 7.5 devices.

Why al those delays?! Hate it. The beta/dev version is already around for some months, why does it always has to take so long! Hope they fuzz they have created will succeed my/the expectations… Waiting for months now on the update!

Maybe they want to perfect the software to compete directly against iOS 5.

I read that Microsoft finished Mango and released to the manufacturers early(somewhere around 3 weeks ago) so we’re not waiting on Microsoft we’re waiting on manufacturers and most likely AT&T, Verizon, Sprint… but that’s what must happen when you have all this different hardware running the same OS. Learn patience we must
