HTC Hosting Mysterious Event on September 20th

Published

on

HTC just announced a host of new devices at IFA 2011 in Berlin including two Windows Phone Mango handsets and a 4G LTE tablet called the HTC Jetstream for AT&T so it’s a little curious that the company just started sending out invitations to a mysterious event taking place on September 20th in New York City. All the invite says is that the company wants the invitees to ‘Come celebrate in style with HTC.’

Unfortunately, as TechCrunch points out, the invite isn’t like a Samsung invite where the writing is blatantly on the wall. Remember the Galaxy S II invite? No, this invitation is shrouded in mystery.

HTC Event

Now, what could this possibly be?

There is no mention of a product launch anywhere on the invitation itself but then, why would they be sending out media invites if there wasn’t something that needed to be covered?

Any guesses?

HTC Vigor?

HTC Sensation Special Edition?

Those are mine.

There was meant to be a London event where I was expecting some news about the Vigor, but nothing appeared on the net that I could find. Maybe this is when we’ll get news. I’m about 6-8 weeks away from needing to upgrade my phone at contract renewal and was hoping that would be out here in the UK. Will wait and see, I suppose.

New Android weapons on the loose…boy would i love to see an ICS HTC device outed. As it stands right now i have narrowed my two most wanted devices…the new Nexus (which i wish was made by HTC) and the HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G (just wish it will come with a 720p HD screen like the HTC Vigor). Lets hope HTC will do a quick upgrade of the Ruby/Amaze 4G and the Vigor to ICS as soon as Google does the reveal.
