Verizon Droid Prime Release Date Rumored to Be November 3rd

Published

on

Big rumor coming out of Rumorsville today is that the Samsung Prime aka Droid Prime aka Galaxy Nexus aka the phone that you should have your sights on if you’re in the market for an Android device has a tentative release date scheduled for November 3rd. The rumor comes courtesy of the Panda aka Black_Man_X, known for his Verizon leaks, and a partner-in-crime named Tom.

According to them, the device is scheduled to arrive on the same date that Bob Kane, creator of Batman, died. That date, is of course, November 3rd. They also left some other hints about the device as well.

Droid

It apparently will have LTE, Android Ice Cream Sandwich and they also noted that those who buy the upcoming iPhone 5 will be extremely jealous. Sounds pretty good to us, if true.

Now, we had heard that the first Ice Cream Sandwich device or devices would be launching on October. And we also heard from Eric Schmidt that Ice Cream Sandwich would be coming in either October or November. This date lines up perfectly.

Announce Android ICS and the new Nexus in October and launch the phone in November. Verizon’s device is also supposed to be the first Nexus device to hit the market..

Smart if you ask me. Puts plenty of space between it and the iPhone 5. But, as I’ve said, they need to make sure they put out a teaser or something in the beginning part of October to get the attention of consumers.

Circle November 3rd in pencil for now, people.

It should come out before the iPhone with heavy advertising as to why it is better than the iPhone. If released after iPhone i would predict it will not sell as well. Plus it needs to ELIMATE VZW bloatware and be pure ICS.

A phone on Verizon with no bloatware?  But how will I live without VZ Navigator?!?!?!  ;)  Seriously, I’d love to see it, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

one of the features of Ice Cream Sandwich is being able to hide/uninstall bloatware.

Those crappy VZW apps are pointless i dont know one person who uses those, they literally just take up valueable storage space, luckily Prime as 32GB of internal memory so that shouldnt be a problem but lets let the consumers upload the apps they want and need not just crap software noone uses.

That works for me.  I will probably go ahead and purchase it if all of the specs hold up.  Otherwise, I will go with either the HTC Vigor or LG Revolution 2.

I can definitely hold out another 6 weeks for this phone. Question is what are the actual specs and how will they stack up against the Thunderbolt 2 and Droid HD? If the rumored specs are true this will be the phone that sets the pace for devices in 2012.

You like, like ma are hard on phones  I know people who have just dropped their iPhone from 3-4 ft. and destroyed the glass!  I’ve never really been a apple fan (Yes I’m admitting it) but they have managed to keep this cracked glass issue a non issue.  Pretty impressive if you ask me considering all of my iPhone owning friends have had to replace the glass at least 2 times a year!
