Sprint Tightens Up Return Policy Ahead of Rumored iPhone Launch

Published

on

Rumor has it that Sprint will be getting at least one version of the iPhone at some point in the weeks ahead, it’s unknown whether it’s the iPhone 4 or iPhone 5, and it seems that the carrier is doing some tightening up in the policy department ahead of the popular phone’s launch.

Last week, we saw Sprint do away with the Premier Program, a move that the carrier said had to be done to keep unlimited data and offer the latest devices, and it appears that it has also now changed its return policy.

Before Friday, Sprint had a 30-day ‘satisfaction guarantee’ in place. Now, the carrier has told AllThingsD that it has switched to a two-week return policy, a move that is similar to the return policies of Sprint’s competitors. AT&T currently offers a 30-day return policy while Verizon offers a similar two-week policy.

Both moves will give those looking to pick up an iPhone on Sprint a little bit of pause, but if Sprint is able to offer unlimited data, they will become nothing more than an afterthought.

Sprint has claimed that it and its network are both ready should an iPhone launch in the future. However, whether or not the carrier will pair the iPhone with unlimited data remains a mystery.

These policy moves seem to point to it being a possibility, if only at the start.

We just bought a Samsung Epic Touch that has problems! No reception in my house, won’t connect to Mac computer.Took it in last week, was told Sprint needed to send me something that would correct the problem. Tried to exchange it for another phone today, but it has been 17 days instead of 14 and they woudn’t do it. They tampered with it in the store, said they fixed the issue of no reception, no connection. Didn’t work! Changing the satisfaction policy to 14 days was a bad move! Won’t make the mistake of going with Sprint again when this contract expires!!!
