Sprint iPhone 4S Launching on October 14th

By  |  6 Comments

The rumors about the Sprint iPhone were true. Apple has announced that its iPhone 4S will finally be hitting Sprint’s network alongside versions for AT&T and Verizon on October 14th. This news comes just a day after a report claimed that the carrier had shelled out $20 billion for over 30 million iPhones over the next four years, essentially betting the house on Apple’s iconic smartphone.

No specific carrier details were announced, but if Sprint offers the pricing that Apple announced at the event, it will look like this:

After a two year contract, a 64GB iPhone 4S will cost $399. A 32GB model will be $299. And a 16GB iPhone 4S will be $199, the standard. Pre-orders will begin on Friday, October 7th.

We expect Sprint to share more details itself over the next couple of days, and don’t be surprised if we see some sort of premium placed on the iPhone 4S because of Sprint’s unlimited data policy.

Exciting news though, who’s buying?

Not too many people will be dumping Android. Siri was neat (kinda), but definitely not worth losing out on all the Android superphone perks (bigger screen, greater flexibility, more storage, etc.) by switching.

Apple stock is down 17 bucks.  Some nifty new stuff in the iPhone 4S but now I definitely won’t be getting and iPhone with its small screen and HSPA+ being the fastest connection.  Thanks Apple for making my phone choice easier now.  Bring on Nexus Prime!!!
