iPhone 4S Sells Out at Apple, Now Shipping in 1-2 Weeks

Published

on

Yesterday we got our first taste of how well the iPhone 4Swas selling on its first day when AT&T announced that it had sold 200,000 devices in a mere 12 hours. And now, we’ve got the main course. Apple’s online store is currently sold out of the iPhone 4S and shipping times have been pushed to 1-2 weeks. Yes, you can still pre-order your new iPhone through Apple but you’re not going to see it on launch day if you do.

Apple isn’t the only one with supply problems either.

Best Buy is currently sold out of its supply of on-contract versions of the iPhone 4S for AT&T.

Sprint has stopped taking orders for the 16GB iPhone 4S.

AT&T’s website lists the iPhone 4S as shipping between 14 and 21 days.

And Verizon says that iPhone 4S orders placed right now will be delivered by October 21st.

What this means is that if you plan on getting an iPhone 4S on launch day, you’re going to have to head to your nearest Apple store or carrier/retail location early on the morning of the 14th.

Otherwise, be prepared to wait a bit to get your hands on Apple’s new hardware.

Selling out at launch- another Apple hype ploy. Makes for hype media headline, but since Apple is suppose to have great capabilities, it would have figured out how to fix this a long time ago. This is one more way Apple hypes its products.
