iPhone 4S Launch Propels Sprint to Best Sales Day Ever

We already knew that sales of the next-generation iPhone were going to be massive. On day one, there were over a million pre-orders. Then, yesterday, the iPhone 4S sold out online at AT&T, Sprint and Verizon.

So today figured to be a huge day for Apple and carriers around the world playing host to the iPhone 4S.

Well, at least one carrier wants the world to know just how well its doing and that carrier is Sprint, who is the only U.S. carrier who is playing host to the iPhone for the first time.

Sprint just announced that the iPhone 4S has helped propel the company to its biggest sales day of all time. While it didn’t release any official sales numbers, it did release a statement from Sprint product chief Fared Adib.

iPhone 4S

Exclaims, Adib:

Sprint today reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history with the launch of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4. We reached this milestone at approximately noon CT/1pm ET. The response to this device by current and new customers has surpassed our expectations and validates our customers’ desire for a truly unlimited data pricing plan.

Certainly, that would be great news for any carrier but it is for Sprint in particular because the company has essentially bet the house on the iPhone.
