HP Tells Customers Sorry, No More TouchPads

Published

on

You might still be able to pick up a HP TouchPad at Best Buy or eBay or through some other method or off hand promotion. But if you were on that waiting list with HP it looks like you are out of luck.

According to Neowin, users who signed up to be notified when HP had some more TocuhPads in stock are being told that the party is over and HP is officially out of inventory. Remember HP had said it would fire up the factory line for one last run of the TouchPad to meet demand after it pulled the plug on the device, which then became very popular at a fire sale price of $99.

But that doesn’t appear to be the case going forward.

They did another run and made them available to HP employees. Limit of one per employee.

They did do a final run. However, all of those went to those orders already placed. I ordered mine on that weekend from HP and only received it last week because they were producing them for the last month.

All this talk of HP selling them all to employees is ridiculous.

That’s just sad. I’m very disappointed in HP. I don’t understand the disorganized way that they went about all of this.

I know that not everyone would be able to get one—but I was told by H P that weekend in August that an e mail list was being created & people on the list would be notified of where & when they may be able to get one from their last run—instead–we received e mails stating that they are all gone—so how many were there and how many names were on this list—as the saying goes—:”this dosen’t seem to pass the smell test” –Mywife was going to buy a new H P laptop–we are checking out the Dell web page today When you screw with the consumer–the consumer then screws back
