Verizon Galaxy Nexus Battery Cover Confirms Carrier Branding

Published

on

Just a couple of days after we saw accessories for Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus arrive at Big Red’s retail stores, the device’s battery cover has appeared on Samsung’s website showing off its 4G LTE, Samsung and Verizon logos. If you recall, we saw a press image awhile back that seemed to indicate that Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus would be devoid of any carrier branding when it arrived. Looks like that that wasn’t meant to be.

It also looks like the battery in the Verizon version will be the same as there is a listing for the same 1750mAh battery ( as the GSM variant. Of course, if promising battery life we saw a few days ago is anywhere close to accurate, this battery should be fine.

So now all we need is for Samsung, Verizon, anyone, to step up to the plate and give the device an official release date.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus

With November 10th out the window, November 17th and November 21st have become the leading candidates for the the Galaxy Nexus’ release date on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

If either of those are Verizon’s official date, we should know for sure in the next few days.

I speak for…some people: Carrier branding is just some white paint. Nobody looks at it.

I wounder if the battery cover from the European variant will fit this phone or if someone witll market a cover without any markings on it.  I’d buy one as I don’t want to do ANY advertising for Verizon.
