Verizon Galaxy Nexus Gets Another Possible Release Date

Published

on

Here we go again, folks. Verizon continues to stay mum on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date which means we are left to our own devices, devices that unfortunately are leaks that don’t seem to clear anything up. Today’s is from Engadget and it’s an internal screen grab from Best Buy’s system which shows the release date for the Galaxy Nexus as being December 11th.

That of course is three days after December 8th, the date that was previously thought to be the day that Big Red would finally unleash this device upon the masses.

It’s entirely possible that this screenshot is faked, Engadget has its suspicions, and it’s also possible that the device will hit Verizon before it hits Best Buy. But still, this is definitely a date that needs to be tossed in the hat for now.

Galaxy Nexus

It’s now December 1st and we have been waiting since October to find out when this phone is going to be released.

We think it’s time Verizon said something, don’t you?

We thought so.

As a consumer I think its time Verizon said something.  If just to say that they don’t have a firm date yet but it will be out sometime in December.   But if I’m a Verizon executive I would wonder if it would make business sense to do that right now when you already have 2 new high end phones for sale and once people know when the Nexus will hit, Verizon could be stuck with Razr and Rezound inventory they won’t be able to move except at a reduced price.  That makes me wonder if Verizon would have played the Nexus release differently had the Razr and Rezound not been out yet.

Yes I do think that Verizon should announce a release date this week which is almost over or at least next week for sure. They have to announce something concrete next if its possibly going to be released after the 11th of December. Remember the 11th is on a Sunday no way would Verizon release a device on a Sunday. Possibly that Monday or that Thursday or even that Friday. Iam talking about the week of December the 12th week. I seriously doubt it it will be released on the 8th that’s a week away. Verizon would have announced something already. So scratch the 8th of the rumor list. Just saying. Just my intuition that’s all.

simply infuriating behavior from verizon… I’m stuck with Verizon for now b/c I’m on a family plan with my parents and brother… but I waited weeks for the Galaxy S2 only to find out a few days before release that Verizon wasn’t going to have it.  Now they are pulling the same sort of BS with the Galaxy Nexus.  For the rest of my life… I will SHUN VERIZON WHENEVER I have the chance.  I’m a 3rd year medical student with a old cell phone… and I NEED a smartphone for working in the hospital.  STUPID VERIZON doesn’t understand that these smartphones are BUSINESS TOOLS.. NOT FASHION ACCESSORIES.  I NEED to know when it is coming out.  This unpredictability is causing me HARM.

Mr. Park, you’re not even a MD and you act like one.  If it’s causing “HARM” just buy some other smartphone!

It’s not so much that I’m acting like an “MD”.  I’m acting like the cash-strapped 24 year old that I am.  I have >$100,000 in school debt already… I’m really saving up for this one phone specifically.  I’m not gonna buy another phone for at least two years… It’s just a shame that Verizon doesn’t do business in a very business-like fashion.  If the medical profession conducted itself in the same way, keeping secrets and being all unpredictable for the sake of making money, you wouldn’t be very happy whenever you went to the hospital, would you??  I thought the Galaxy S2 was coming out in early Oct, but Verizon didn’t even let us know that it wasn’t even going to carry it, until literally a couple days before it came out on almost every other carrier.  Now it’s repeating the same game with the Galaxy Nexus… keeping things under wraps until the very last second.  From my perspective as a consumer, it’s causing me a huge headache.

Well, whenever I go to the hopsital/doctor I end up waiting around for awhile without anyone really telling me what’s going on. Sounds like Verizon has a lot in common with them.

It’s a phone, just a phone. Mr. Park is 24. His emotional breakdown is normal. Take a chill pill and call me in the morning.
