Verizon Galaxy Nexus Release All But Confirmed for December 9th
Many of you that are planning on getting Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus, lack of Google Wallet and all, have probably been wondering when the phone is going to be hitting shelves. Just a guess. Well, there is mounting evidence that suggests that December 9th is going to be the day, the most credible of which is a Verizon equipment guide that has been updated to reflect that date.
As you can clearly see in the lower left part of this image, the release date for the Galaxy Nexus is boldly proclaimed as December 9th. And while this isn’t official, we have to wait for Verizon to make that claim, this is pretty damning evidence.
So, that should just about solve that mystery.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we should see the Galaxy Nexus arrive this Friday along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Whew.

I wonder how many people will be at stores when they open on Friday. Just Android fanboys with some bucks? Most people I talk to don’t even know this phone exists.

I will grab one Friday night if they don’t sell out. I doubt they will in Alabama. :)

You will probably be able to pick one up. There were no problems getting the Bionic on day one. I went to a Verizon store the day after the Razr came out and asked if they had any in stock and they said yes and that was a phone that had a big marketing effort behind it by Verizon. The Nexus is still lurking in the shadows less than 72 hours from launch.

Anybody have any thoughts on when we can pre-order? Or if we will even be able to at this point?

Are we sure that launch means available? Not just announced?

There is a leaked email to store managers that states that the devices are shipping to stores today and not to be sold until Dec 9th. I think that should mean available. I hope at least.
