Microsoft Launches Official Xbox LIVE App for iOS

Microsoft has announced that it has launched an official Xbox LIVE application for iOS devices which is a free application that allows those that use Xbox LIVE to better communicate with each other amongst other things. The application is free and it’s available right now on the iTunes App Store for those that are currently owners of an iDevice from Apple.

So what does this app do exactly?

Well, the overarching feature here is the fact that the app makes it far easier to stay connected to the things you love on Xbox LIVE when you’re away from your Xbox 360 console.

Features include:

• Read and send messages to friends
• Manage your friends list, invite new friend
• Read and Edit your full LIVE profile (name, bio, motto)
• Change your avatar features/items with the avatar closet
• View and compare your achievement progress with friends

All of that can be done using the application your phone or tablet. I have been playing around with it on my iPhone for the last couple of minutes – I had all sorts of problems logging in, don’t know if I’m alone – and I really like what Microsoft has done here. The UI is fluid and it definitely seems like something I will start using on occasion.
