Huawei Releases Experimental Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for Honor Smartphone

In an effort to woo uber geeks to its hardware, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has released a demo build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its Huawei Honor smartphone. The build being released is still an early build, but is deemed stable. For users who want to get a tasting of Ice Cream Sandwich but don’t want to commit to bugs and glitches that are typical of beta software, the manufacturer has also posted instructions to revert back to Android 2.3 Gingerbread should things get a bit too hot; after all, you wouldn’t want your Ice Cream Sandwich to melt.

It’s interesting to see Huawei being aggressive while most Android manufacturers haven’t committed to a firm release date. Could the Honor be the first smartphone to get Ice Cream Sandwich outside of the official Google Galaxy Nexus?
