Google Creates Whimsical Galaxy Nexus TV Ads

When the original HTC-made Nexus One debuted, Google had made the device a sort of geek cult item by limiting its availability to Internet channels only. That said, several Nexus generations later, the Galaxy Nexus may propel Google’s Nexus line from geek chic to pop culture status much in the same way that Verizon’s and Motorola’s Droid campaign had made Android a household name. Furthermore, the device’s hype is only bolstered by the launch anticipation in the U.S., which had seen speculated launch dates slip a few times before. To add to the consumerization of the Nexus line, Google will be debuting a few whimsical television commercials highlighting some of the features of the Galaxy Nexus and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software, including facial recognition unlocking and video chat through Google+.
