Dolphin Browser for iOS Gets a New Look, Adds GBM to Webzine Listings

One of my favorite alternate iPhone and iPad browsers, Dolphin Browser, got an update today that brings an updated look, performance improvements and adds GottaBeMobile toe the Webine listings so you can read your favorite mobile technology blog in a prettier layout on your iOS devices.

The new Dolphin Browser v 3.0 is available for the iPhone and iPad in the app store today for free.

The revamped Dolphin Browser gives you a nicer looking landing page on the iPad and on both the iPad and iPhone you;ll see refinements to the Speed Dial and Webzine components. While in the Webzine feature, you can customize your Webzines by category and once you have landed on your favorite topic, you’ll enjoy nicer looking text and photos thanks to a cleaned up design. In the Webzine section, you can also read GottaBeMobile.com, which is a new addition to the Dolphin Webzine listings.

One of the reasons I like Dolphin for both the iOS devices and Android is that it offers extra functionality that makes the browsing experience more enjoyable. One of these features is the ability to set your user agent, which is a fancy way of saying that the Dolphin browser can trick webpages into giving you the full desktop version instead of the stripped down mobile version. This is especially handy on tablets.

Another nice feature is the ability to sync your bookmarks between the iPhone, iPad and Android, which was introduced back in November. This can already be done with iCloud between iOS devices, but if you have an Android phone and an iPad you’ll like this option.

Check out Dolphin Browser today for a better browsing experience.

Great except (at least in iOS7) the new Folphin is ugly: white splash screen – kinda ok (but hurts my eyes), light green address bar while the whole top bar is already “dolphin green” – WTFd the tab screen is just white on white – again WTF etc. Are the people responsible colorblind or is this new color scheme supposedto look good on iOS8 (which I won’tbe installing for a while due to jailbreaking)?
