This morning at the AT&T Developer’s Summit in Las Vegas, AT&T and HTC announced the first AT&T LTE Windows Phone device for US markets: the HTC Titan II. Peter Chou of HTC was on stage with Ralph de le Vega and Steve Balmer to show off this hot new phone.

The HTC Titan II has a 4.7 screen and a 16 Megapixel camera with an impressive f/2.6 wide angle lens and dual LED flash. It will record 720P HD video and has a 1.3 Megapixel front facing camera.

It features a  Qualcomm’s 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S2 processor and has 1730 mAh battery.

More importantly, it will be usable on AT&T’s LTE network.

Today, at the 2012 International CES, HTC introduced the HTC TITAN II as the company’s first Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) device to run on a 4G LTE network. Expected to become available in the U.S. exclusively to AT&T
customers in the coming months, the new smartphone is designed to help consumers stay connected while on-the-go with the largest display among Windows Phones, an advanced digital camera and access to 4G LTE speeds.

The HTC Titan proves to us that HTC is committed to Windows Phone moving forward. While this is just one device, it’s a step forward for Microsoft (by offering an LTE Windows Phone device), HTC and AT&T alike.

Hopefully Chuong and I can bring some in depth hands on with the Titan II some  time this week in our meetings at CES 2012.

What do you think? Is this the shot in the arm that Microsoft needed for Windows Phone to move forward in growing their market share?
