ZAGGkeys FLEX Bluetooth Keyboad Hands-on

Zagg is showing off a nifty Bluetooth keyboard for your tablet needs. You can use it with iOS and Android tablets, but I was also told that it’s been tested with Windows Phone too. All the functionality that the keyboard offers doesn’t currently work with Windows Phone, but the core functions should. It’s designed for iOS and Android and has a toggle switch to set the keyboard up for either of them. There is no software required to take advantage of the functions either.

The Keys Flex case doubles as a universal stand for your tablet as well.

Below is a quick video walk through of the ZAGGkeys  FLEX Bluetooth keyboard.

Like I said, the keyboard can be used with many devices.

The ZAGGkeys FLEX is versatile and can be used interchangeably with the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod touch devices, Galaxy Tabs, Android devices, and some smartphones.

In addition to the regular keys, there is a top row of function keys that perform different functions depending on your mobile OS:

The ZAGGkeys FLEX has special function keys to give you more control of your device. Use the switch on the back of the keyboard to select either Apple (iOS) or Android specific functions.

  • Home: Displays the device home screen.
  • Search: displays the device search screen.
  • Slide-Show: Plays a slide-show of saved pictures. *
  • Keyboard Hide/Show: Hides or shows device on-screen keyboard. *
  • Cut: Cuts selected text to clipboard.
  • Copy: Copies selected text to clipboard.
  • Paste: Pastes clipboard content in selected field.
  • Previous Track: Skips to previous track on current playlist.
  • Play/Pause: Starts or stops current playlist.
  • Next Track: Skips to the next track on the current playlist.
  • Mute: Mutes audio.
  • Volume Down: Decreases volume.
  • Volume Up: Increases volume.
  • Lock: Activates and deactivates device sleep mode. *
  • Menu: Shows and hides drop down menu. **
  • International Keyboard: Toggles between international keyboards (if selected in iPad settings.)
  • Back: Takes you back to previous activity. **

* Does not work on Android.
** Does not work on Apple.

Hardware wise, it feels very solid. It’s lightweight, but doesn’t feel fragile. The keys feel very similar to MacBook Pro keys.

    How does this differ from the existing Logitech tablet keyboard?

      Well, not much really. It’s Zagg is all. Perhaps I should do a comparison review of the two at some point.

    I never suggest this product because of it’s price. I do not tend to give no more than 50 bucks for this product. Besides, it might be a problem that going from a screen to another when you are typing on Pages. It is absolutely espensive product in Europe.
