Late last night, LG took the wraps off of its newest tablet, the LG Optimus Pad LTE, which will be hitting shelves in South Korea first, and then will likely be heading elsewhere around the globe.

The Optimus Pad LTE brings some pretty enticing things to the table including an IPS display and a thin design, but the fact that it will be running Android 3.2 Honeycomb is a letdown right out of the gates.

Sorry to trash your party, LG,

So let’s run the Optimus Pad LTE down for you.

LG Optimus Pad LTE

It will include:

  • Operating System: Android 3.2 Honeycomb
  • Memory: User 32GB (Micro SD up to 32GB)
  • Size: 245 x 151.4 x 9.34 mm
  • Weight: 497 g
  • Display: 8.9-inch IPS True HD Display
  • Resolution: 1280 x 768
  • Camera: 8MP (Rear) / 2MP (Front)
  • Processor: Qualcomm 1.5GHz Dual-Core / Dual Channel Processor
  • Battery: 6,800mAh
  • Others: HDMI, DLNA

There is quite a bit to like here. Big battery to handle 4G LTE. Fantastic screen resolution. Cameras that might not be all that bad. A processor that will be able to handle just about anything thrown at it. And it’s light.

Again, the only qualm, at least on paper, is that it won’t be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which is Google’s latest operating system. Sure, we’ll probably here promises about it being upgradable but really, do you want to sit around and have to wait for that to happen?

It’s just a headache waiting to happen.

No pricing or details in regards to this tablet yet but you can be sure that we’ll be hearing about all of those soon.
