The ‘quietly brilliant’ smartphone-manufacturer has begun sending out media invitations to its event in Barcelona for February 26 during the trade show Mobile World Congress. In the past, HTC has used MWC to introduce its worldwide lineup of GSM smartphones with a few of those devices re-branded to reach the U.S. market, and the invitation-only event is expected again to play host to new HTC smartphones.

On dock for this year are models that include the HTC Ville, HTC Edge, and HTC Primo to name a few. Smartphone models being introduced will most likely come with Beats Audio integration as HTC tries to differentiate itself from other manufacturers, including Motorola, Samsung, LG, and Sony.

Earlier this month at the Consumer Electronics Show, HTC announced together with AT&T the new 4G LTE Titan II Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

The manufacturer has committed to debuting fewer, but more prominent smartphone models for 2012 in a move to mirror Appleas Apple only launch 1 smartphone model a year.
