Samsung to Announce Two New Galaxy Tabs in February?

Published

on

Samsung was already rumored to be announcing one tablet at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and today, another device has been thrown into the mix thanks to some Wi-Fi certifications that show two unknown devices, GT-P3100 and GT-P5100. So, instead of the Samsung Galaxy S III, it looks like we may just get some new tablet PC’s.

A little bit of a disappointment but hey, tablet enthusiasts should be thrilled as Samsung has put out some of the finer competition to Apple’s iPad in the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 7.7.

As for these new tablets, details are extremely scarce at this point as the Wi-Fi certifications reveal, well, nothing.

Speculation has at least one of these tablets being a high-end device complete with a powerful 2GHz Exynos processor along with Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

It’s also rumored to have a 10+-inch high-resolution display that might check in with WXQGA (2560×1600) resolution which would give Apple’s iPad 3, which is rumored to have a Retina Display, a run for its money.

As for the other tablet, nothing yet.

However, Andronica brings up a good point. It’s possible that we might see Samsung unleash a competitor to the Amazon Kindle Fire in the form of a cheap, mid-level tablet. Right now, the Kindle Fire’s biggest competitor is Barnes and Noble’s Nook Tablet.

And sooner or later, Asus hopes to compete with its Eee Pad MeMO.

So, now that this is out in the open, don’t be surprised if Sammy announces two different Galaxy Tab devices at MWC next month.
