Pre-Order the Samsung Galaxy Note Today

Should you order the phone today or wait until it’s actually out before buying? It’s a tempting device with a gorgeous 5.3 inch display, a digitized stylus, plenty of pre-loaded and free apps that support it, plus 4G LTE speeds.

The big day is finally here! No, not game day. Well.. yes, game day. But, even more important, it’s the day you can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note phone/tablet… tablephone? Phonelet. Tabphone. Thingy.

Whatever it is, you can give someone money today and get your hands on the device two days before the general public gets to buy it.

Both AT&T and Best Buy are taking pre-orders for the Ceramic White and Carbon Blue versions. Best Buy is even giving each pre-orderer a flip cover for free. Sweet.

Pre-order day coincides with the phone’s first U.S. ad, which is airing today during the Super Bowl. An online preview of said ad indicates it’s another in the group making fun of people who wait in line for the iPhone.

Should you order the phone today or wait until it’s actually out before buying? It’s a tempting device with a gorgeous 5.3 inch Super AMOLED display, 1280 x 800 HD resolution, Android 2.3, dual-core processor, big battery, 8MP camera, digitized stylus, plenty of pre-loaded and free apps that support it, plus 4G LTE speeds.

Still, if you haven’t at least laid hands on the phone the screen size can seem daunting. It’s expensive for an on-contract phone — $299 — and costs more if you’re not renewing or starting new service. Plus, being on AT&T may put some off who live in areas where the network historically hasn’t wowed.

We’re big fans of the Galaxy Note, giving it a Best of CES 2012 award for Most Versatile Device. And in our hands-on time with the phone and the stylus we’ve come away impressed (check out the videos below). The final verdict will have to wait for our full review, though.
