Two Unannounced Colors Appear in New Nokia Lumia 800 Ad

Two new colors for the Nokia Lumia 800 have been spotted in a new ad featuring the Windows Phone 7 handset and the Nokia BH-220 Bluetooth headset. These colors–red and green–follow the originally announced black, fuchsia, and cyan version of the Lumia 800 and the recently announced white version of the smartphone.

The Nokia Lumia 800 debuted alongside the more color-customizable Nokia Lumia 710 in October at Nokia World. The Lumia 800 and 710 are Nokia’s debut Windows Phone 7 handsets following a partnership announcement with Microsoft at 2011’s Mobile World Congress. The Lumia 800 borrows its design aesthetics from the MeeGo-powered Nokia N9.

Like the Nokia N9, the Lumia 800 has a unibody polycarbonate shell and curved glass display. The paint is mixed in with polycarbonate plastic body, which means that no matter how deep you scratch the Lumia 800’s body, you’ll always see color instead of white or another color like on competing plastic smartphones.

Since debuting the Lumia 800 with a 3.7-inch Clear Black AMOLED Display, Nokia had announced the Lumia 900 earlier this year, which was designed with the U.S. market in mind. The Nokia Lumia 900 has 4G LTE support, a larger 4.3-inch display, out-of-box support for tethering or Internet sharing, and the same Clear Black AMOLED Display technology. Unlike the Lumia 800, the Lumia 900 doesn’t use a PenTile sub-pixel arrangement, which leads to a clearer, sharper display, and uses a flat glass touchscreen rather than a curved glass touchscreen.

Nokia plans on introducing more models for its Windows Phone portfolio. The Lumia 800 is currently sold unlocked via Microsoft retail stores with a bundle that includes a Bluetooth speaker and Bluetooth headset.
