Google Doodle Dials in Love for Valentine’s Day

Published

on

Google has been known to pull out all the stops for special Google Doodles, but today’s Valentine’s Day Google Doodle is a step above the standard drawings with a minute long animated Google Doodle love story.

You can see the Valentine’s Day Google Doodle by visiting Google.com on your desktop, or you can watch the tale of young love in the video embedded below, which will work on your smartphone or tablet.

To start the Google Doodle video, tap on the play icon in the card that the main character is holding on Google.com.

In the video, drawn by Michael Lipman, we see Harry Tryhard attempt to woo Julie Jumps-alot with very little success. That is until he gives up on chocolates, balloons, flowers and more in favor of joining in the a jumprope.

If you want to listen to more of the music in the video, you’ll need to Google Tony Bennett, who plays the cover of Cold, Cold Heart in the Google Doodle. Thanks to TeachCrunch for the backstory on this Google Doodle.

It’s funny to see Harry try so hard by Googling for what to give on Valentine’s Day because Google Autosuggest is full of weird search results.

Thankfully if you search for what to give a girl for Valentine’s Day you do get some good results, even if the top results take you right to Yahoo.

If you need some Valentine’s day laughs, why not check out the crazy Valentine’s Day date suggestion that Siri offered to one persistent suitor. You might be surprised to find out that Siri has a soft spot for lonely prisoners on Valentine’s Day.
