February was the month of the ultraportables over on Notebooks.com. And we’re certainly not complaining. Now that thin and light is the new mainstream we’re glad to see so many worthy machines that don’t compromise on functionality when chasing down a feather light weight or razor thin edge.

Of particular note are the Dell XPS 14 which offers amazing sound in a skinny package and the HP Folio 13, the first business ultrabook to hit shelves.

In March we expect to see more of the same as ultrabooks continue to roll out and Samsung finally graces the world with the new Series 9.

Mobile users who don’t have very demanding needs will enjoy this 11.6-inch system. It fits nicely between all the tiny netbooks and heavier systems with 14 or 15-inch screens.
