HTC One X Gets Easy Root Ahead of Launch

Published

on

One of the more attractive device to come out of this year’s Mobile World Congress was the HTC One X, a device that the Taiwanese company will almost assuredly market as its new flagship device. And today, we have some good news for those that are planning on buying it. The HTC One X has already been rooted ahead of its anticipated launch in just a few weeks.

Rooting, for those that are not in the know, allows you to access parts of your phone that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to.

HTC will also likely, they haven’t said anything yet but we assume this to be the case, provide a way for owners to unlock the device’s bootloader and that will mean that One X owners will be able to customize the device to their hearts content.

In fact, you’re going to need HTC to release that tool at HTCDev.com for this root to work.

HTC One X Gets Easy Root Ahead of Launch

For many of you, the HTC One X might be your first Android device and thus, the first device that you can, in fact, root. So, maybe you’re worried about the difficulty of doing it and understandably so.

Fortunately, the process of rooting the One X is going to be a painless one.

The Superboot here is a one step process that will take your phone from unrooted to rooted in no time. It’s also going to work for owners on Windows, Mac and Linux which is extremely convenient.

HTC’s One X has yet to launch but it will be doing so in the days ahead. Here in the United States, it’s going to be available on AT&T’s HSPA+ 4G network. And while the international version will offer a quad-core processor, the AT&T model will come with a dual-core processor.

It’ll also arrive with a 4.7-inch 720p HD display with Gorilla Glass, an 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chatting purposes, 1GB of RAM, an HDMI connector for TV-out, and an extremely thin design which checks in at 9.5mm.

In addition, it will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it will be one of the first devices with the new HTC Sense 4.0 which HTC has been talking up over the past few weeks.

And from what we saw, it’s hard to argue with them.

HTC Sense 4.0 and the One X both look grand.
