Sprint Galaxy Nexus Release Date Pegged for April 15th

Published

on

We have all been wondering when Sprint will launch its upcoming 4G LTE network and along with it, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Well, it looks like we might finally have a date to circle – in pencil – on the calendar as April 15th has now been pegged for the Galaxy Nexus release date. That date comes from someone who is apparently part of the Sprint Product Development division so it seems fairly credible.

Previously, we had speculated that both Sprint’s 4G LTE network and the Galaxy Nexus would be launching in April.

Amazon is currently having a fire sale on Sprint 4G WiMax devices, which lasts through the month of March, and we also know that Sprint will be ending a contest for the Galaxy Nexus at the beginning of April.

As we’ve said, we doubt that Sprint will make the contest winners – all thirty of them – wait for their prize.

Of course, we have yet to see anything official or any hard evidence that points to that date other than the word of the tipster so at this time, take that date with an extremely grain of salt.

We did however see the Galaxy Nexus pass through the FCC which is generally a sign that things are progressing and that a launch is coming in the not-so-distant future.

Sprint originally announced the Galaxy Nexus at CES, you can check it out in the video below, and it figures to be one of the first, if not the first, 4G LTE devices available on Sprint’s new network.

We have also heard that the HTC One X might be joining it in June under the name HTC Jet.

Needless to say, these are exciting times for the Now Network and we’ll let you know if we heard anything further.
