AT&T Store Rep Speculates Early April 6th Delivery of Lumia 900 for Pre-Orders
At least one AT&T retail store salesperson had advised a customer that if they pre-order the Lumia 900, they may receive the device ahead of the April 8th launch date. That AT&T rep told the customer that if the customer were to pre-order the phone on March 30th, they will receive it by April 6th. The Lumia 900 is expected to be widely available on April 9th in retail stores.
Hey, I stopped by my ATT store today, to try and pre-order the Lumia 900, I wasn’t allowed to, but the sales rep who had his own black Lumia phone, told me that if I do pre-order the phone on the 30th I will receive it by April 6th.
The phone is one of two Windows Phone models launching on the same date–the other being the rival HTC Titan II–to feature 4G LTE connectivity, a first for Windows Phone. Where LTE isn’t available, the device will fall back to 4G HSPA+ or 3G HSPA connectivity. AT&T says that LTE delivers 10 times the speed of 3G and its 4G HSPA+ network delivers up to 4 times the speed of traditional 3G connectivity.
The device features a 4.3-inch Nokia ClearBlack Display, wide aperture front- and rear-facing cameras, and an award-winning industrial design. The Nokia Lumia 900 launched to great fanfare at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.
The Lumia 900 is the first Nokia Windows Phone to feature a front-facing camera.
The device will get a huge marketing push by Microsoft, Nokia, and AT&T. AT&T has committed to launching advertising across different channels and the Lumia 900 will be the centerpiece of its retail stores. It is speculated that the launch of the Lumia 900 will be greater than the launch of any previous smartphone on AT&T, including the iPhone.
The phone is launching with an aggressive price tag of just $99 with a two-year service agreement through AT&T.
