Motorola Shows Off RAZR MAXX Battery Life With GPS Navigation

Motorola has found a new way to show off the battery of the Droid RAZR MAXX: GPS navigation.

In a short promo video, Motorola compared the battery life on the RAZR MAXX to the battery life found on iPhone 4S and LG Spectrum, when using the phones as GPS navigation systems.

Motorola charged each device to 100 percent and put all three on a car dashboard using VZ Navigator to guide a driver to their destination. The results aren’t terribly surprising given the batteries in each device.

The LG Spectrum was the first phone to die after just 2 hours and 27 minutes. The iPhone 4S lasted a more respectable 3 hours and 45 minutes while the Droid RAZR MAXX was still going strong just over 4 hours later, with about 40 percent battery remaining.

A few months after its debut, the RAZR MAXX is still the modern smartphone with the longest battery life. With a 3300 mAh battery, the RAZR MAXX also happens to have the largest battery available in a smartphone. That huge battery is great for smartphone power users who don’t want to charge their phones at least once every day.

Sadly, Motorola is the only manufacturer willing to put such a large battery in a smartphone.

One competitor, HTC, believes that users want thinner phones over larger batteries. Whoever designs the phones at HTC should look at this video and see that the RAZR MAXX is not only slightly thinner than the iPhone 4S but also has a much longer battery life.

This is proof that phone can be both thin phone and sport a big battery, and we hope that other companies will find a way to make it happen.
