Google Project Glass Sample Photo Is Stunning Adam Mills05/09/2012 Just a few weeks after we got a glimpse at the first photo taken with Google’s Project Glass, we now have another sample to feast on. In a post yesterday on its official Google+ Google Glass page, Sebastian Thrun, the same developer who shared the first picture taken with the Google Glasses, has shared yet another photo taken with the spectacles. This time around, the quality of the photo is much better. The first photo, taken of Charlie Rose, was good, but it left a lot to be desired.Advertisement Thrun’s latest photo, which depicts his son Jasper, is much clearer and it also gives us a pretty cool shot that would be extremely difficult to pull off with a camera not embedded in a pair of high-tech glasses. The photo also gives us a glimpse at how the camera performs in an outside environment. Suffice to say, the quality of the photo is pretty darn impressive, especially since these are just a prototype.Advertisement Google’s Project Glass is set to bring Google Glasses and their augmented reality capabilities to the general population. As of right now, we are unsure as to when that might be although there has been whispering about a possible release by the end of the year.Advertisement The glasses have been rumored to retail for somewhere between $250 and $600. Excitement behind the project is warranted given the features that Google has said will be on board. The video above displays several of those features which include:Advertisement Checking the weather Checking a calendar Receiving and responding to a message Getting alerts and navigation Setting reminders Looking up a friend’s location Taking and sharing a photo Listening to music Taking and receiving calls Video chatting Needless to say, it’s an ambitious project and one worth following.
