Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 Update Rollout Starts (IMM76K)

Published

on

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 update is ready for release and coming soon according to Verizon, but some users don’t have to wait any longer.

The new Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 IMM76K update is on the way to all Galaxy nexus owners, but it is rolling out slowly.

According to reports in forums and on Twitter the Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 update is available to a growing number of users. It has yet to arrive on any of the Galaxy Nexus smartphones in our hands, but we’re checking for updates.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Update 4.0.4

Check for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 update.

If you don’t want to wait for the update notification to hit your Verizon Galaxy Nexus it is possible to check for updates manually.

  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on About phone
  • Tap on System updates

Wait while the phone checks with Verizon for the update. If an update is found it will download and install on the phone. You may need to be on WiFi or 4G LTE to receive and download the Verizon Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 update.

We are still waiting to figure out if the Android 4.0.4 update for the Galaxy Nexus solves the many problems users experience such as the mic cutting out and all the random reboot issues.

Adam Mills’ Galaxy Nexus is plagued with issues that keep getting worse. You can read about his Galaxy nexus problems and the continuing nightmare that is Mills’ Galaxy Nexus.

As it stands, Verizon and Google have not made all of the changes public according to GottaBeMobile reader Dro, who shares the following comment,

The changelog does not list all of the issues that this update will fix. Verizon keeps the master list private. The 4.04 update includes better radios for 3g and 4g as well as improved calling. Random reboots and audio issues are also addressed.

This could mean that users will still face a number of issues after the update is applied. We’ll be putting the Galaxy Nexus through the tests on Android 4.0.4 to see what it fixes and what’s still broken.

It’s great to see the update finally hitting user devices, just months before we expect to see Android 4.1 announced.

Are you able to get the Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 update? If so has it solved your Verizon Galaxy Nexus issues?

What is the best, or trust source to learn how to root and install 4.04 and future updates on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus?

I think it is better to learn how to root and get latest updates. I am upset with VZ.

  3. Just got the update this morning, wish I didn't :(

Finally got the update this morning. NO improvement on radio signal :(
Unable to answer incoming call. Phone rings but unable to wake up screen. Just black screen, no unlock icons or any indication of life, just phone ringing & no way to answer it! Rebooted & saw the “missed call,” tried to call the person back but error msg said call was not placed, at the same time I could hear the call going through, but again, black screen!! Can’t wait to see what else has been “fixed” :/

I read this on another forum, and since I had nothing better to do I gave it a shot………..and it worked.

    Home/menu/settings/apps/all/google services framework/

    Touch this.

Once it opens clear data and force stop it.

    Hit home/settings/about phone/check for updates.

It took me 7-8 times doing it, and then it started downloading the update, installed, and no problems at all. Some of the other people on that forum did it 3 times and it worked, some did it 15 and it worked, and of course some did it a lot and nothing happened.

Nothing is lost by clearing the data and force stopping it, so no fear there.

Give it a shot, you really have nothing to loose but about 10 minutes of time…………and you have a lot to gain if it works.

I tried it after reading about it on Drippler. I only needed to do it once and everything seems have gone through. I got the pop up that stated my upgrade was successful at the end. No problems so far.

The update that I got on Saturday came through automatically. However since then my phone has lost all connections at least 4 times. This didn’t happen before I updated. Anyone else having this problem?
My fiance has the same phone and after his update his phone is working fine.

After updating last night, this is the first day I haven’t lost r’adio connection. I wonder if there is an issue because you didn’t have the problem before.

Got my first nexus replaced after cracking the screen. The replacement nexus has been plagued by dropped signals constantly, resulting in texts not sent, dropped calls, and lost data connection. The 4.0.4 update fixed my dropped signals, but not the lost data connections. So texts now send and no dropped calls, but I still have to either reset my phone or turn on and off airplane mode to reconnect to data when it drops.

I received an automatic update on Saturday. My phone has not rebooted at all since then. So it seems to be working so far. The only issue I’m having with now, is not being able to copy or save images from my dolphin browser. All I had to do before was long press and it would give me options. Now it does nothing. At first I thought it was the app itself so I uninstall it, then reinstalled. But it still isn’t working. Does anyone know how this issue can be resolved?
