If Facebook and Apple had a Facebook status it would be “it’s complicated” but it looks like we might finally see Facebook integration with iOS 6 when the new version of the iPhone and iPad software is announced at WWDC 2012 in a few weeks.

Apple CEO Tim Cook fanned the flames of Facebook integration with the iPhone and iPad during Cook’s talk at the All Things D conference where Cook praised Facebook and hinted at deeper Facebook integration.

Cook told attendees to, “Stay tuned.” which could become the new Apple CEO’s, “One more thing.”

Preview of Facebook integration in iOS 6?

TechCrunch says that iOS 6 will deliver Facebook integration in iOS 6, at least as it stands today. The Facebook and Apple newsfeeds are cluttered with spats and last second reversals.

Siegler says that Facebook Integration is part of iOS “Sundance”, the code name for iOS 6.

This means you might fall in love with Facebook integration this fall when the iPhone 5 arrives.

There are some issues to work out with Facebook integration due to the wide variety of items you can share on Facebook and who you want to share them with, so it will be interesting to see how Apple deals with these complexities and privacy issues.

The last thing you want is your iPhone autosharing your party pics with your parents or new boss.

Sharing is one of the biggest reasons I want Facebook integration in iOS 6. It will be nice to share links, photos and videos right from Safari and the Photos app.

But, that’s not the only reason Facebook Integration will be a much appreciated feature.

Instead of signing in with a Facebook login or fast switching between Facebook and the app, apps could automatically sign users in. This would offer faster access to Draw Something and Spotify.

We’ll know if Facebook integration is part of iOS 6, and headed to the iPhone 5, when Tim Cook and Apple leaders take the stage at WWDC 2012 on June 11th.
