Published

Verizon officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S III earlier today and while it provided many of the important details it left out a few key ones including the off-contract price of the device which has now been revealed.

Droid-Life has acquired a piece of intel that reveals the off-contact pricing of the Verizon Galaxy S III.

According to a piece of internal evidence, the Galaxy S III will be available for $549.99 off-c0ntract for the 16GB model while the larger 32GB Galaxy S III will cost $649.99 full-retail.

This pricing is more important than ever now that Verizon has announced that at some point this summer, with the introduction of a shared data plan, those buying phones off-contract will be subject to losing unlimited data. Those who pay full retail price will be able to stay grandfathered into an unlimited data plan.

So that makes these prices more important than ever because these might be the prices that some future Galaxy S III owners will have to pay.

Sadly, there is no official word on a release date for Verizon’s Galaxy S III. Verizon will be taking pre-orders on June 6th and the on-contract price will be $199.99 for the 16GB Galaxy S III and $249.99 for the 32GB model.

The Galaxy S III is a 4G LTE smartphone, capable of connecting to Verizon’s large 4G LTE network at speeds 10 times faster than 3G. The Galaxy S III is also capable of acting as a hotspot that connects up to 10 WiFi devices. Sadly the Double Data promotion is no longer available to customers who purchase the Galaxy S III.

It will feature a spacious 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, an impressive 8MP camera with loads of features, a massive 2100mAh battery, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In addition to Verizon, it will also land on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular this month.
