Droid Incredible 4G LTE Release Date Now Pegged for July

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE release date on Verizon is now pegged for July, not June.

Originally, we had thought that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, which Verizon originally announced back in May, would be arriving on June 21st. However, according to Droid-Life, it appears that the launch has been pushed back to July with July 5th now the rumored launch date for the 4G LTE smartphone.

And while it’s possible that it could launch before then, it’s also possible that Verizon could push that release date back even further, especially because the carrier is slated to launch the Samsung Galaxy S III around that time.

The Galaxy S III is expected to start arriving on July 9th.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE might not arrive until July.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE’s path to release has been an incredibly odd one. The device had been extensively rumored prior to its official unveiling at CES in Louisiana where we spent some hands-on time with it. Verizon at the time told us that the phone would be released in the “coming weeks.”

Instead, it now appears that it will be launched just around two months after it was officially announced, which could make it a tough sell. Customers are already intrigued by the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX will have its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update by then, making it as formidable as ever.

Even at $149.99 on-contract, as has been rumored, Verizon will have a tough time convincing customers to buy the Droid Incredible 4G LTE.

We’ll let you know when we hear for sure but as of right now, don’t expect the next Droid Incredible to arrive until next month.

Anyone still holding out?

i am still going to wait for it. I think the galaxy s III is ugly personally, and im not a fan of the the razr or razr maxx. the wait will be worth it :)

Creeps. I won’t wait for it, because they are going to shared data plans on June 28 to screw over their customers even more.

  3. Waiting says

I am waiting. I love my Dinc 2, but the screen broke (ironically 2 days after Verizon removed them from their website) and my employer who furnishes my phone would rather have me get a whole new phone than have the screen replaced. I don’t want to carry around a small tablet all the time and the GSIII, the Razr, and the Maxx are all way to big. So, I am limping along with hopes of the Dinc 4G coming sooner rather than later. (and I won’t get an iphone…so that’s out)

The release date for the Incredible 4g is pegged for july 5th.

    Launch Information
    Launch Date: 7/5/2012
The DROID Incredible 4G LTE by HTC will launch to all channels on July 5, 2012.

This information is coming out of the equipment guide inside of Verizon.

  5. Waiting says

With many of the “specials” slated to end on 6/30 and the data plan changes on the 28th, any day after that would make sense. Just hope they don’t keep extending it to eternity.

  6. vet2be says

Of course, the special $79.99 price on the Rezound is only good online, so if you are currently on an unlimited data plan as I am, you are forced to lose it to upgrade at the reduced price. If you go into the store, you can keep your current plan (until 6/28), but you pay $199.99 for the Rezound. Again, greedy creeps.

And the sales reps at the Verizon stores have been trained very well on the rhetoric to use to make customers think that the new data sharing is a good thing.
