Since May, those interested in picking up the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE from Verizon have been in the dark about a release date. And sadly, today, the situation became a bit more complicated.
A flyer, brought to the surface by Phandroid, indicates that Verizon still has plans to launch the Droid Incredible 4G LTE soon. When exactly, still remains a complete and utter mystery.
The situation has been that way since Verizon announced the phone during the month of May. In that announcement, the carrier did not say when the phone would be hitting its 4G LTE network. It also failed to confirm any specific release date when the carrier let us go hands-on with the new Android 4.0 smartphone.
Since then, the release date has only existed in rumors.
Currently rumors have the device as coming out in the month of July. The specific date is said to be July 5th but as of yet, Verizon hasn’t confirmed anything. if true, it would mean that the device would launch just a few days prior to the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III which is currently rumored to be hitting Verizon’s 4G LTE network on July 12th.
So it would appear that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will still be hitting shelves, even with this massive gap. There are definitely more than a few people still interested in the phone that sports a 4-inch display, a speedy dual-core S4 processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
However, it would appear that the device might face some stiff competition in the 4-inch display department from the iPhone 5 , a device that is currently slated to arrive sometime this fall.
