It appears that Google won’t be stopping with just the Google Nexus 7 tablet as it looks like the company might have a larger, Google Nexus 10 tablet in the works as well.
According to Digitimes, a site that is extremely hit or miss, the company is planning on rolling our a 10-inch tablet sometime in the future. The rumor comes from supply line details that indicate that AU Optronics (AUO) and Wintek will be supplying touch panels for the new Google Nexus 10 tablet.
There, unfortunately, are no other details to be had at this time other than the screen size. In fact, because of the source, it’s unknown whether the Google Nexus 10 even exists at all.
However, it does make sense that Google would want to release a tablet with a larger screen size, possibly to compete with Apple’s iPad.
We have heard that there will be other Nexus tablets coming in the future and Samsung is rumored to be the manufacturer of at least one of the tablets that is set to come later this year.
It’s unclear if this rumored Nexus 10 is the device that Samsung has in the works or if Asus, the company that makes the Nexus 7, will be the manufacturer.
Google recently announced the Google Nexus 7 tablet, its first ever Nexus tablet, at Google I/O 2012. The device is currently up for pre-order at both $199 and $249 price points and it will be shipping out to customers at some point in July.
The company has yet to provide a specific release date for the Nexus 7.
