With Sprint’s Galaxy S III finally becoming available to hopeful customers who are awaiting Samsung’s third-generation flagship Android smartphone, the carrier is also pushing out the device’s first over-the-air software update. The update doesn’t bring any new features to the Galaxy S III, which operates now on Sprint’s CDMA/EVDO network and will be compatible with Sprint’s LTE network when it becomes available. The one item that is mentioned on the change log is a security update, which brings the software to version L710VPLF9.

The software update will be pushed out to customers after June 29 and customers who activate new Galaxy S III devices after that date will get the software update after their devices have been activated, according to Sprint’s forum.
