Today has provided some good news for Droid Incredible 2 owners who are waiting to hear whether HTC and Verizon will roll out Ice Cream Sandwich for the aging device.
As we have learned, the HTC Droid Incredible S has started to receive its Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Incredible S is the Droid Incredible 2, it’s just not the Droid Incredible 2 on Verizon.
So, now that HTC has decided to roll out the Droid Incredible S Android 4.0 update, there is a very good chance that HTC and Verizon will decide to do the same for the Incredible 2.
Of course, the companies are probably going to watch and see how Ice Cream Sandwich runs on the Droid Incredible S before making any brash decisions.
Droid Incredible 2 could get Ice Cream Sandwich soon.
And fortunately for HTC, it has a huge window available for that decision.
A few weeks back, the company announced that the Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich update would possibly be rolling out. That left open the possibility that Droid Incredible 2 owners might not see the update.
The company has said that it will make its decision by August which essentially holds Droid Incredible 2 owners hostage until then. Certainly not a fun experience in the slightest.
However, today is good news for Droid Incredible 2 owners and we hope that it means that a roll out update for the Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich roll out is close.

I checked this site out because an update was just pushed to my Incredible 2. My phone restarted and now says: updating software from verizon wireless. This is usually only the case for system updates. Fingers crossed.

I love how the author continues to cling to the false notion that the Incredible 2 might not even get ICS 4.0. As I stated before, the list is devices GETTING ICS. The TBD is when the Incredible 2 will get the update not IF. Likely rolling update out to the Inc S first to see how it handles it and then will update the Inc. 2 with fixes if any are needed.
Exactly, it has NEVER been a question IF it has always been a question of when.
Well I already have ICS on my Dinc2 (sense 3.6) so I’m good.

Ok brother where did u got ICS for incredible 2, pls tell me I really want to do it too.
He probably got his ICS by having his phone rooted, there is a Rom out for ICS on the incredible and Dink 2…so that is where he likely got it.
