A new purported photo of the iPhone 5 front panel shows off a centered front-facing camera and both a black and white design.

The photos come from Apple.Pro, courtesy of 9t05Mac, and show the front plates of a device that may be Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 which is rumored to be coming out this fall.

These front panels show off an iPhone that has a centered front-facing camera and a white front frame for the iPhone 5, something that has only shown up in renders.

The front panels seen here seem to match up with our exclusive iPhone 5 engineering samples that point to the iPhone 5 as having a taller display with a smaller bezel.

These purported iPhone 5 photos reveal a centered FaceTime camera.

This leak comes shortly after the iPhone 5 reportedly went into production with a new look and a release date pegged for the month of October.

New photos reveal that the iPhone 5 may sport aluminum instead of glass, a move that Apple has been rumored to be making several times in the past.

Rumors also suggest the new design is taller and thinner, but not wider, because Apple wants to accommodate a larger 4-inch display. The screen rumors suggest Apple will make the display taller, opting for an aspect ratio closer to that of a HDTV.

iPhone 5 Rumors

In addition to a new design and a 4-inch display, the iPhone 5 is rumored to be coming with a number of upgrades from the iPhone 4S.

Apple is rumored to be outfitting the device with a new processor, possibly a quad-core A6 chip. 4G LTE data speeds that will allow iPhone 5 users to pull down data speeds up to 10x faster than 3G. A smaller 19-pin dock connector. And a new HD front-facing camera.

The iPhone 5 itself has not leaked out on camera just yet.

iPhone 5 Release Date

The iPhone 5 doesn’t yet have a specific release date although the phone is rumored the coming out in August, September or October of this year..

While we’ve heard August and September, October is the front-runner as the company generally follows launches cycles and the iPhone 4S was released in October of 2011.

This would also give Apple plentiful time to get iOS 6 beta tested and ready for launch this fall.

Personally, I still don’t get the whole “taller display” everyone is talking about. This would be quite a hassle for developers I would imagine, and most phones are bigger than the iPhone anyway. However, an aluminum design would be nice!
