T-Mobile G3 Coming in September?

Published

on

It seems that T-Mobile has a new, mysterious HTC-device in the works and it’s possible that it could be the T-Mobile G3, the sequel to the popular T-Mobile G2.

According to TMoNews, a device called the HTC Era 42 is slated to hit T-Mobile during the month of September. Right now, the release is set to come on September 26th alongside a device called the BlackBerry Armstrong which is supposedly going to be a new Curve, probably the Curve 9320.

The big device here is the mysterious HTC Era 42 which could possibly be the HTC G3. There is no evidence to back that up yet other than the fact that the original G1 was the Era G1. HTC has also said that it’s not going to be focusing on devices with QWERTY keyboards, something that both the G1 and G2 had.

However, both the G1 and G2 had some pull on T-Mobile and there are still many of consumers out there that still want a quality smartphone with a quality keyboard.

Could a T-Mobile G2 successor be on the way?

The HTC Era 42 definitely could be that device, or, it could be something else entirely. Again, all there is is speculation at this point.

Still, T-Mobile is going to need something unique on its network, especially if it doesn’t have the iPhone 5 at launch. And without a 4G LTE network in place, it won’t be coming until next year, that seems unlikely.

So, the carrier could use all the help it could get and a T-Mobile G3 would certainly be a device that could entice consumers, especially if it had a vanilla version of Android like the T-Mobile G2 did.

Would you be interested in a T-Mobile G3?

This is exciting. I am a devoted G2 owner. But after 2 years of constant use, it’s getting a bit ragged. It would be great to have the G2 quality and keyboard with updated guts.

    HEY! TMo! G3!!!

I’d be quite interested. I was a G1 owner, and am currently a very happy G2 owner. My phone has been a real workhorse now for nearly two years but a G3 would be a near certain purchase.

Oh God yes! Bring on the G3, I’ll need to replace my faithful G2 soon! I’m pretty sure phone manufacturers are underestimating the demand for phones with a physical keyboard.

Yes. Bring it and I will buy it. I too have used the G2 for 2 years and it has been a great phone. When my G3 arrives the G2 will not be sold on ebay because it will instead sit in a box next to my G1. This will be my personal museum of awesomeness.

I also periodically check Google for news of a G3 phone. My G2 is ready for retirement, and I’m not a fan of T-Mobile’s current line.

Maybe this time well get a decent phone. If any of the oem ‘s could do the simple math, every qwerty phone with decent specs gets nabbed quickly. The majority of qwerty phones are bricks on their release day. Been waiting months for an S3 with qwerty. Instead we get the relay 4g. 3 year old s3 chip, substandard ram, screen, and camera. Trash battery. Argh. Give us a real qwerty phone. There are some of us the like having a screen while typing. I don’t have children’s or asian lady thumbs, OSK eat screens and typing time (for example this message took less than 3 minutes to type, no edits needeed. Let’s see an osk do that.)

I also had the G1 & now the G2 for the past 2 years which has probably been the best phone I’ve ever owned and if they made a G3 I would stand on line to get it.

I would definitely take advantage of the release of the phone even though I am working overseas because I see a trend of devises going away from physical Keyboards. My G2 is excellent and I am very happy with it. I hadnt thought about upgrading it until I read about a possible release of a New G3. I own a G1 as well and was very happy with it.I love the full QWERTY keyboard as I do a lot of date entry on my phone.

Guessing this isn’t happening anymore since today is the 9/27 but I haven’t even heard anything yet about this phone anymore
