Nexus S Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Release Date Now Up in the Air

Published

on

The Nexus S Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update release date remains unclear after a roll out that was scheduled to arrive yesterday failed to arrive.

Vodafone Australia originally thought that the update would roll out at 1PM AEST time on July 19th. However, the carrier has said that issues came up preventing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Nexus S from rolling out on schedule.

The carrier specifically says that the “software currently does not meet all the Australian regulatory requirements related to emergency calls.” So it appears that that is the issue at hand and once that’s ironed out, Nexus S owners, at least those on Vodafone should expect a roll out to take place.

Unfortunately, Vodafone says that it doesn’t have any sort of a time table as to when the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean roll out for the Nexus S might resume.

The Nexus S Android 4.1 Jelly Bean release date is, once again, unclear.

French carrier SFR, which said that the update would roll out yesterday, doesn’t appear to have updated its customers with any sort of news.

At this point, the Nexus S Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update release date is now up in the air and those with the device are now left with zero visibility as far as a roll out is concerned.

It’s also unclear if the Nexus S Android 4.1 update will roll out across the board. Sprint has sadly not said anything about the timing for the Nexus S 4G Android 4.1 update. American carriers are notoriously slow to update their devices so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it get the update last.

So the wait for the Nexus S Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update continues and hopefully, it’s not long before the problems are ironed out and the software is pushed out to owners of the second Nexus smartphone.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is going to bring a lot of new features to the tablet including Google Now, better Voice Search, offline Voice dictation, a smoother UI, new Notifications options, and more.
